National Team Coach: Former Super Eagles star submits application

Legendary Super Eagles attacker, John Utaka has confirmed to the press that he has filed his application to the governing body of the Nigerian football federation for the post of the U-20 Coach.

It could well be recalled that in July this year, the NFF advertised the position of the Flying eagles Coach which is currently vacant in search of qualified candidates to take over. The position comes with certain criteria to be met as seen on the Federation’s official website.

John Utaka who featured for the Senior National team of Nigeria from 2001-2012 in an exclusive reports as given by sports radio brila FM has made it clear that his application for the post of the Flying Eagles coach has been submitted.

“I have applied for the under-20 job, and it’s something I would like to do if given the chance,” He said on Brila FM

“I think it would be good because, as a player, I knew what it took to play for the country, which is something the youth need to understand. When you play for Nigeria, you play with your heart.”

“There is a philosophy behind our play; we have to represent our flag with the utmost respect, and that’s why we are there.”

“The game comes with pressure, but when you get the pressure from all round you have to sit with a committee and key with the people who are making the decision, at the end of the day the coach will have the final say on who he wants to play according to talent and capabilities and not just someone that will not perform.” he added
