UK riot remarks: PM Starmer clashes with Elon Musk
The billionaire owner of social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Elon Musk, has clashed with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, after the tech boss said Britain was heading for civil war.
Musk’s claims provoked a row with Downing Street over the riots that have engulfed UK cities following the allegation that social media is fuelling the unrest.
Starmer had warned UK far-right thugs over mob violence against asylum seekers
Musk, in a comment on his social media site about the violence, said, “Civil war is inevitable.
Starmer’s official spokesman explicitly rejected the comment, saying there was no justification for it.
Musk, however, reacted to a post on X by Starmer, quizzing the prime minister’s decision to provide extra protection for mosques.
