The Premier League is the dream of most footballers around the world, it is also known for signing players from various leagues for exorbitant fees.

Here are the most expensive transfers from the Bundesliga to the Premier League following the signing of Erling Haaland to Manchester City.

What is Transfer Fee?

The transfer fee is the amount that a club decides to pay if a player transfers before their contract expires, the new club pays compensation to the old one. This is known as a transfer fee.

(1) Jadon Sancho: €85 million

England winger Jadon Sancho finalized his move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund by signing a five-year contract with the 13-time Premier League champions during the summer transfer window of 2021. The Red Devils paid Borussia Dortmund a transfer fee of 85 million euros.

(2) Kai Havertz – €80 million

Kai Havertz has joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £75.8m (€80 million ) after signing a five-year deal in the summer of 2020. The German scored the goals that won Chelsa their second UEFA Champions League and their first World Club Cup.

(3) Kevin De Bruyne: €76 million

The Belgian signed a six-year-deal with Manchester City in the summer of 2015 from Wolfsburg for a reported club-record fee of £55 million (€76 million), that deal made him the second most expensive transfer in British foot all history after Ángel Di María’s move to Manchester United in 2014.

(4) Christain Pulisic – €64 million

The 23-year-old made a transfer of €64 million from Borussia Dortmund to Stamford Bridge in January 2019 but was loaned back to Dortmund for the remainder of the 2018.

(5) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – €63.8 million

The Gabonese is the fifth player on the list, he joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €63.8 million-plus £5m in further add-ons in the January transfer window of 2017/18 season.

(6) Erling Haaland – €60 million

The Norwegian has agreed in principle to join Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the 2022 summer transfer window. Haaland will join the Cityzens for a transfer fee of €60 million.

(7) Naby Keita – €60 million

The Gabonese joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig during the summer of August 2017. The Reds activated a release clause in his contract which comes into effect at the end of the 2017/18.

(8) Timo Wermer – €53 million

The German joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner on a five-year for a fee of around €53 million.

(9) Leroy Sane – €52 million

The German joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016, the 20-year-old was Pep Guardiola’s fifth signing with City from Schalke a reported transfer fee of €52 million.

West Ham completed the signing of Sebastian Haller, from Eintracht Frankfurt for a club-record fee that it is understood could rise to €50 million in the summer transfer window of 2019.

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has said he will only stay at the club if incoming manager, Erik ten Hag wants him.

Major changes are expected at Old Trafford this summer following a miserable season.

Ten Hag is expected to shake up the playing squad, as he looks to impose his style of football.

United signed Ronaldo less than 12 months ago and the Portugal captain has a year left on his deal, which he is keen to see out.

Paul Pogba takes decision on joining Manchester United’s rival for free

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has reportedly told his club’s rival, Manchester City, he will move elsewhere when his contract with the Red Devils expires this summer.

Reports had earlier emerged that Man City were interested in signing Pogba, this summer with the 29-year-old, set to become a free agent in July.

Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, is looking for a central midfielder to replace the veteran midfielder Fernandinho, who is set to exit the Etihad when his deal expires this summer.

Pogba was among those on the shortlist at Man City, although the Citizens are unable to make a formal approach until the end of the season, while foreign clubs have been able to formally sound out a move since January.

However, according to The Athletic, it appears Pogba is not prepared to swap Man United for Man City as there is an offer on the table from a different club which is a better proposition.

The France World Cup winner is almost certainly set to leave Old Trafford when his current contract runs out with his second spell at Man United, following a then world-record transfer fee of £89million in 2016, not going according to plan.

Pogba has struggled for consistency as Man United have continued to underperform following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

2022 World Cup: How Mourinho can help Cameroon win trophy – Eto’o

Former Cameroon striker, Samuel Eto’o has said his country can win the 2022 World Cup if they follow Jose Mourinho’s method at Inter Milan.

Mourinho led the Serie A club to winning the Champions League trophy in 2010.

Eto’o, 41, who is currently the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, was part of the Inter squad under the Portuguese tactician.

In the 2009/2010 season, they lifted the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia, and their first Champions League title in 45 years.

Cameroon will play Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland in Group of this year’s World Cup.

When asked if coach Rigobert Song can lead Cameroon to World Cup glory, Eto’o, who is currently in Italy to announce a charity game in San Siro on May 23, said as quoted by BeSoccer: “I don’t see why he can’t win it.

“I believe that in order to win the World Cup you don’t need to be monsters or aliens, you need good preparation, a strong mentality, and a pinch of madness.

“I won a bit in my career and to do it I gave everything. I always take Inter as an example: no one at the beginning of the 2009-10 season thought we could win [the Champions League] and instead, Mourinho did something crazy, with a group of men and warriors.

“I would like something like that for Cameroon too.”

The two Premier League sides have reportedly shown interest in bringing the Super Eagles star from Napoli to the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United is looking to overhaul their entire team following the coming of Erik ten Hag as their new boss.

The Red Devils are facing their worst Premier League finish in decades after missing out on top four finish this season and are now battling to qualify for the Europa League.

With veteran striker, Edinson Cavani set to leave Old Trafford in the summer after his contract expires, the Red Devils are in the market for a centre forward.

Arsenal also want to use Osimhen as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who left the Emirates Stadium for Barcelona in the winter transfer window.

Osimhen is said to have chosen Arsenal over Manchester United majorly because of Champions League football. Arsenal are currently sitting fourth in the Premier League, with a brighter chance of finishing top four.

Chelsea, on Saturday morning, officially confirmed Todd Boehly as the club’s new owner.

In a statement via their website, the Premier League giants confirmed that terms have been agreed for the new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, to acquire the West London club.

Boehly became Chelsea’s new owner following the completion of his £3.5billion takeover, replacing Roman Abramovich.

His consortium was named as the preferred bidder to take over Chelsea by the Raine Group, the US bank who are overseeing the sale.

Chelsea’s statement read in part: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.

“The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.”

Chelsea confirmed by their official website that terms have been agreed for the new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, to acquire the Premier League club.The statement read: ‘Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.

‘Of the total investment being made, £2.5bn will be applied to purchase the shares in the Club and such proceeds will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account with the intention to donate 100 per cent to charitable causes as confirmed by Roman Abramovich. UK Government approval will be required for the proceeds to be transferred from the frozen UK bank account.

‘In addition, the proposed new owners will commit £1.75bn in further investment for the benefit of the Club. This includes investments in Stamford Bridge, the Academy, the Women’s Team and Kingsmeadow and continued funding for the Chelsea Foundation.
‘The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.’

Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel has said Real Madrid have “no right” to be in the Champions League final.

The LaLiga champions produced another stunning comeback to beat Manchester City 3-1 on Wednesday night.
